Danish airspace extends from out in the North Sea across to the east of Zealand and from the German border to a good way up towards Norway - and in everyday use it is called the Copenhagen FIR (Flight Information Region).

Within this FIR there are different types of airspace, and therefore Naviair has a number of different types of air traffic control depending upon what type of airspace an aircraft is located in:

Adjacent Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and Upper Flight Information Regions (UIRs)
Sweden FIR/UIR, Norway FIR/UIR, Scottish FIR/UIR, London FIR/UIR, Amsterdam FIR, Bremen FIR, Hanover UIR and Rhine UIR.
